Excited to start the community engagement phase of our tool on Clinical Virtual Reality Training: Managing Chronic Diabetic Wounds in Regional Clinics. In collaboration with the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), the University of South Australia, the University of Adelaide, and the South Australian Aboriginal Chronic Disease Consortium, we have developed a virtual reality (VR) education program for rural health practitioners focused on improving the diagnosis of diabetes-related foot complications (DRFCs) within the Indigenous community.

Great work, Stefan! Another important paper published Using Virtual Reality to Improve Classroom Behavior in People With Down Syndrome: Within-Subjects Experimental Design. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and benefits of virtual reality exposure for people with Down syndrome in learning settings.

Extending our postural stability paper by examining whether taking short breaks reduces VR sickness and cognitive aftereffects. I presented this research at the IEEEVR Health & Safety in VR/AR workshop hosted in Christchurch, New Zealand.
This research is published as an IEEE conference paper titled Getting the Most out of Virtual Reality: Evaluating Short Breaks to Reduce Cybersickness and Cognitive Aftereffects.

What a month for papers! Our paper titled Rest Intervals during Virtual Reality Gaming Augments Standing Postural Sway Disturbance is also published. We investigated whether taking breaks during VR gaming reduced the effects of VR sickness on postural sway during standing balance assessments.

Congratulations Stefan! Our Vocational training in virtual environments for people with neurodevelopmental disorders: A systematic review is now published. We conducted a systematic review to assess whether training in virtual environments can be used to improve real-world vocational skills in people with neurodevelopmental disorders.

I co-led a Daily Moves workshop with Dr Raymond Matthews. The Daily Moves is a free supportive physical activity program for adults +65 years old. Dr Matthews discussed the benefits of napping and I presented the work from my Road Safety Teams' Glenelg project. After our presentations, Dr Saredakis, Mr Michalski and I showed the participants a few Google Map experiences in VR. They were blown away!!
Who says VR is only for young people?!

Our paper Beatsaber paper is now published. Exergaming With Beat Saber: An Investigation of Virtual Reality Aftereffects. Our study investigated the consequences of playing one of the most popular VR exergames for 10 and 50 min on aspects of vision, cognition, and self-reported VR sickness.

Wow! Dr Jun Ahn and I were one of two teams to win the Augusta Zadow Awards 2020 to improve workplace health and safety for young people. The award was presented by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia. Our project will be testing the effectiveness of VR-based training for forklift operation.

I attended A guided tour of Practical Data Science with R workshop given by statistician Professor Ernest Fokoué from the Rochester Institute of Technology. The workshop was amazing, brilliant and definitely the most 'edutained' I have ever been!

I hope Professor Fokoué comes back to Adelaide. I want to learn more exciting Data Science.
